Why did you change your name?

We have been Bitchin Beads since 2001, and we will always stay true to our roots. Within the last year we decided to take the next step in growing and updating our style.  While trying to spread the word about Bitchin beads, and grow our social media presence. Our friends at Facebook have sent messages threatening to shut our page down because of vulgar language.   With that message came panic on our end. We decided to take the leap and re Brand to Studio BB Designs.  We will always identify as Bitchin beads, but our online presence will be Studio BB Designs.  You will be able to find us on both Bitchin Beads and Studio BB Designs social media outlets.

What is the lamp working process and why is it called lampworking?

Lampworking is a type of glasswork where a torch or lamp is primarily used to melt the glass. Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by blowing and shaping with tools and hand movements. It is also known as flameworking or torchworking, as the modern practice no longer uses oil-fueled lamps.

Do you use sterling silver? How to care for your items:

Yes, we only use sterling silver for our items. We feel like our beads deserve the best. We have found that after years of experience, the best way to preserve your pieces from tarnishing is to keep them in an anti tarnish storage bag, or use anti tarnish cloth. For cleaning your pieces, most silver cleaners will work just fine, but the best option is just to use a cleaning cloth.

How long does it take to make a bead?

We get asked this question often. There really isn’t a good answer for that… Some beads take only a few minutes, for the little guys, and then some of our large hearts can take up to an hour! Once the bead is completed it is held in a kiln at 940 degrees for several hours. We shut our kiln down in the evening, it takes approximately 7 hours to completely cool down. Once the beads come out of the kiln we take them off the mandrels, drill and clean out the inside of the beads, they are then ready to be made into one of a kind wearable art.

Warranty / Do you guarantee your work?

We guarantee our pieces… all of our beads are kiln annealed for strength an durability. If you have a bracelet or one of our pieces from years ago and the wire has busted. Mail it back to us.  We will re build and re string it and get your pieces back to you so you can continue to enjoy them.  Its so rewarding to us that our amazing customers are wearing their pieces from years ago, and will continue to do so for years to come.

Return Policy

We have a 30 day return policy. If you aren’t loving your new pieces please get them back to us asap… We are happy to give you a full refund within that 30 day period.

Our style changes from day to day, and 6 months from now we are making pieces that are very different… Make sure when you make a purchase, you are totally in love with it and dreaming about it at night. If you aren’t, then it wasn’t meant to be! We want you to love your beads as much as we enjoy creating them.
